This RARE M105 single-axle cargo trailer was designed to transport cargo both on roads and cross-country and is normally towed by a 2½ ton or 5 ton truck. The body of the trailer is of the box type and is provided with lattice-type side extensions, tailgate, bows and a tarpaulin cover (optional). The brakes of the trailer are air-over-hydraulic with a mechanical parking brake. Leaf springs provide suspension and the M105 is designed for deep fording operations.The M105A1 and M105A2 are slightly smaller than the M105. The body of the M105A2 is wood and steel where the others are all steel and the M105A2 has an optional support leg. Systems and Electronics Inc produced a mobile clothing repair shop based on the M105A2. Weight complete is 3,289 kg.The final M105A3 model featured a number of improvements over earlier models including a hydraulic surge brake, an adjustable lunette and improved maintainability and corrosion resistance. The final contract award for the M105A3 was to Pribbs Steel and Manufacturing Inc, was awarded in October 1997 and called for up to 5,000 trailers over a five-year period.
